The Jenkins Racing team has been away from Spec Miata since August because we suffered a lot of attrition throughout 2024. It’s racing, this is always in the realm of possibility. However, despite setbacks with our own equipment, we couldn’t entirely stay away from the track.
By chance the team was faced with a rather ridiculous proposition from a driver that had raced with us previously: Enter the Champ Car Endurance Series race at Road America in one week. Not crazy? Well, there was the small detail that we needed to acquire and prepare a car. And that car ended up rolling into the shop just 5 days before we needed to load up.

While I think most racing teams that value preparation would have refused such a request, we couldn’t resist the challenge. Four days later, we loaded a new-to-us Spec Miata race car, adapted for endurance racing, into the trailer and started the 7 hour tow to Road America. Overall inspection, seat and belt mounting, Flagtronics installation, radios, hubs, fire system; all matter of prep took place. And we even passed tech on our second visit with the scrutineer. 😀
The 4 driver team No Prep Racing was born and Jenkins Racing entered it’s first ever endurance event, the Champ Car Landjaeger Cup 8+7 hour enduro. All things considered, the car ran fantastic and completed both Saturday and Sunday events with solid results. The team finished 16th on Saturday and 24th Sunday overall in a field of 65 cars.

We are very grateful for the customers that put trust in our capabilities to go racing, perform well under pressure, and have a ton of fun. Compliments as well to the Champ Car organization as well for a smooth event.
For now, we are on winter break. Soon we will pull the covers off the Spec Miata’s and get ready for 2025, but for now we will take a break for the holidays. A really huge “Thank You” to all the sponsors, friends, family, and volunteers that make racing possible.
Please visit the sponsors that make our events and the Road Racing Scholarship possible: Buhler, Dynequip, Hammer Wood Floors, Mazda, and Hoosier.

Happy Holidays from Jenkins Racing. 🎄
