Jenkins racing returns to Road America in Elkhart Lake, Wisconsin after a four year hiatus. The last time the Spec Miata’s raced through The Kink, around Canada Corner, and out of Thunder Valley was in 2020 along side the IMSA WeatherTech Sports Car Championship. In 2024 it’s the SCCA Meow-Di Gras Cat Majors.

This was the first time on the re-paved circuit and the amount of grip available to the race cars was phenomenal. The team quickly got to work during the test day to get up to speed with the other competitors. Lap times improved quickly and a mid-pack level.
Saturday’s qualifying did not go as planned. Car 47 had a transponder issue which sent Sam to the back of the field. The race went well with Sam quickly gaining positions back to the mid-pack. Overall a solid first day back at Road America.
On Sunday, both Andrew and Sam qualified near each other in the middle of the field. Despite there being over 50 cars on track, the racing stayed clean and both drivers improved slightly. Check out in car-footage from Car 47 to experience the action.
The the people and atmosphere at Road America is unrivalled in the Midwest and it was great to represent our sponsors Buhler, Dynequip, Hammer Wood Floors, Mazda, and Hoosier at such an iconic racetrack.
Join us at our next race at our home racetrack, Brainerd International Raceway. Check the schedule for details!
