The last weeks of May have been intense. Scholarship winner Mitch completed the remaining steps to obtain his full competition license, Bühler renewed their partnership with Jenkins Racing, and race cars were prepped for the first race of the season.
Mitch successfully completed his SCCA License School at Brainerd International Raceway and was awarded his road racing license. He raced car number 76 to a second place finish on Saturday, and finished just outside the podium on Sunday.
The scholarship was a resounding success and all partners involved are happy with the results. Be sure to check out the scholarship sponsors!
In addition to the scholarship program, long time supporters Bühler Group and Hammer Wood Floors LLC join us at the race track once again for the 2022 season.
Drivers Sam Nogosek and Andrew Jenkins both finished in the mid-pack after some car and transponder challenges caused less-than-satisfactory qualifying sessions. Both drivers raced hard and gained positions during the races. Unfortunately car 47 suffered an serious engine issue on Sunday and had to be retired.
Overall the six days spent at Brainerd International Raceway rewarded the team with good results and new challenges for the future. Thanks to all the road racing sponsors, event organizers, and SCCA volunteers!
