Jack Pine Sprints 2018 @ BIR

The Jack Pine Sprints at Brainerd International Raceway in Northern Minnesota is the last race of the SCCA Cen-Div Championship. Going into the final race Jenkins Racing was in 5th place overall out of 85 cars that attended an event in the central division.

Thanks to the updated car setup, data analysis, and a new set of Hoosier SM7 tires the car was very competitive. Number 21 ended up qualifying P2 on Saturday and P3 on Sunday.

Both races over the weekend were intense battles for top positions. Saturday our Spec Miata followed the race leader away from the main pack and battled for first place most of the race. In the end we couldn’t make a pass that would stick and ended the day in second. Sunday was a similar row for positions at the front, but ultimately the first place car got away from our group and there was constant position changes for second and third place. When the checker flag flew we ended with another second place finish.

Valuable data logging and information from the Bühler BCube IoT sensor pushed us to the front the entire season. Bühler and Jenkins Racing’s consistent performance resulted in third place overall in the Cen-Div Championship for 2018.
